Jacob and Caroline| Matanuska Glacier
Alaska Elopement
Jacob and Caroline's day began at a stunning mountain-view Airbnb tucked into the Alaskan wilderness, mountains rising up behind it. We got the drone up for a few sweeping shots of the cabin before the getting ready moments began, then came the first look out on the deck Jacob turning to see her for the first time, both of them a little overwhelmed, a long hug before either of them could find the words.
From there we made our way to Matanuska Glacier, where a guide fitted us with crampons and led us out onto the ice. I had the honor of officiating their vows in front of thousands of years of glacier. Caroline surprised Jacob with a compass engraved "The world is filled with adventure all we have to do is find it," and we even drank straight from the glacier itself.
We wandered deep into the ice until we found the spot made for them, where they shared their first dance to Elvis's "Falling in Love with You." A ride back on the Ranger, and they signed their marriage certificate in an old hangar overlooking the glacier.
This one had it all adventure, wild landscapes, and two people who couldn't stop smiling. Exactly what an elopement should be.
